Permalink Reply by alMadz on November 21, 2010 at 1:47pm fiqh is the detailed and practical application of the islamic shariah or law, in short a system of islamic jurisprudence.
hadith (or plural as ahadith) means the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and what is accepted in Islam are only the aunthentic ahadith (sahih ahadith in arabic, since there also weak, false and fabricated ahadith which are not accepted as basis in islamic shariah and fiqh, neither islamic fatwah) which is one of the sources(Qur'an is the first source and then the sahih ahadith as an explanation or details of what is mentioned in the Quran based on the understanding of the sahabah or companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him) or basis of Islamic shariah or law.
fatwa is an opinion and if made by a Muslim recognized scholar it means an Islamic verdict or decree, based on the Qur'an and Sahih Ahadith.
these 3terms are related but they are different from each other, they are not the same.
